Oh, what a glorious thing is the New York City subway. It’s the underground home of various performers, from break dancers to singers to poets. And now, apparently strippers, too. Cosmopolitan.com deputy editor Alex Rees captured the latest show on the subway during his Tuesday commute to work. He writes on the site that a man walked into his subway car, then proceeded to strip down to a feather thong and perform for the crowd—whether they wanted a show or not.
It went down at 1 P.M. (maybe the performer thought he was an afternoon delight?), and unfortunately some small children were in the audience. You can see a mom covering her son’s eyes. Other straphangers eagerly filmed the dancer while he gyrated to the song “Cherry Pie” by Warrant. The stripper was all business while performing for the crowd, even getting down on the disgusting subway floor. Maybe he was part of a flashmob but was the only person to show up?
Rees says the mysterious stripper left the train after his performance without even asking for tips. Luckily, Rees captured all the magic on Instagram, and you can watch below. I’ll let you decide if you’d want this little treat on your commute:
